Marquis Dewayne Timms, born August 29, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, to Robin Turner and Marcus Timms, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 31.
Marquis received his primary and secondary education in Los Angeles, attending Charles W. Barrett Elementary School, Bret Harte Preparatory Middle School, Gompers Middle School, Narbonne High School, and graduating from Taft High School.
He demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout his life, holding various positions in addition to his service with the City of Los Angeles in a firefighting capacity, where he contributed to the well-being of his community.
Marquis possessed a wide range of interests, including basketball, football, fishing, and music. He found joy in outdoor activities and cherished moments spent with family and friends.
He will be remembered for his engaging smile, distinctive style, athletic prowess, and dedicated work ethic. His presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Marquis was preceded in death by his older brother Larry. Marquis is survived by his parents, Robin Turner and Marcus Timms; his siblings, Keisha, Letroy, Shannon, Jessie, Gelene, Deontray, Twanna, Myosha, and Lakeitha; his grandmother, Jimmie Adams; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
The family expresses sincere gratitude for the outpouring of condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
