KeShaun Demare Bell

November 29, 1997 — September 18, 2022

Los Angeles

On November 29, 1997, in Lynwood, CA, weighing in at 3lbs 15 ounces, a beautiful baby boy came into the world. A blessing bestowed upon to the parents of Shameka Godbolt and Antonio Bell, who named their son KeShaun Demare Bell.

He was only given three weeks to live but because God's Favor, he made it to his first birthday and eventually his third and a few more after that. Being diagnosed with severe epilepsy at the age of one and then being declared clinically disabled by age three, did not stop KeShaun from living the best life that he could. By the grace of God, he went on to live twenty-four years past the original terminal three-week limit set by doctors.

He accepted and received Christ at an early age, attending Watts Powerhouse Church, under the Leadership of Rev. Todd Grant.

He received a formal education in the Los Angeles Area. He attended Grape Street Elementary School, Markham Middle School and attended high school at Eko Multi-Purpose Center in Compton, CA.

Despite the challenges he faced, nothing stopped him from having joy in his life. He enjoyed dancing and even if he was offbeat, he was always the life of the party. He also enjoyed watching movies. He frequently went to the movies with his "Forever Date", his Queen, his momma. He collected watches, watched cartoons and you could always find him listening to music on his phone or tablet.

Even as he faced many challenges, he had a deep faith in God, a strong belief of family and he loved hard. One of his way of letting you know was by the nicknames he would give you, like "Cuzzo” or “Auntie” or “Uncle” to name a few. Blood or not, when he considered you family, he let you know.

His biggest accomplishment was in 2015, when he graduated from high school, making his mother the happiest woman in this world. They fought tooth and nail the whole way but managed to overcome all obstacles and cross the finish line. It wasn’t easy but it was worth it.

On September 18, 2022, God looked upon His garden and decided he needed a rare flower, one like no other and called KeShaun home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Bell, grandmother, Flora Godbolt, great grandmother, Lola Mae Fountain "Whoopthee," his grandfather, Samuel Godbolt Jr. and Donald Gholston Sr., his Uncle Null Fountain Jr. (Bud) and Auntie Stephanie Gholston.

He is survived by mother, Shameka Godbolt, god-mother, Lisa Martin, god-sister, Felicia Martin, “special bros,” Jimmy Holmes, Clinton Wesley, Josh Grant, Maurice James and a host of aunts (T. T’s), uncles, cousins and “bonus family” that will truly miss him dearly.
