James Knox III

James Knox III was born August 25th, 1972, to James Knox Jr and Norma Jean Green in Los Angeles, CA. James came to know the Lord while being raised by his grandmother, Louise McGilvary. He received his education through the Compton Unified School District where he received his GED after high school.

James, also known to close family and friends as "Big James", had a very genuine soul and to anyone that knew him, and his kind spirit would say he was honest, straightforward, respectful and always had a giving heart. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his siblings and his family and always had their best interest at heart. At the very young age of fifteen years old he inherited a “bonus family,” as he would say. They took him in as their own and watched him grow into an upstanding gentleman. The man everyone had grown to love. With a wonderful testimony to the life, he found in Christ again. He would spend his early mornings reading the Word and praying before he would start his day. James fell in love with the idea of becoming a truck driver where he learned to drive diesel trucks, which sent him on the path the Lord led him to be. He then went on to purchase his own diesel truck and became employed for the Coca-Cola company where he was always commemorated for his great personality, dedication and hard work. James loved talking to his friends about his favorite football team, or any other team he knew would win or lose. He was such a beacon of light and always remained grounded by his faith.

His Mother Norma Jean Green, Father - James Knox Jr, Grandmother - Louise McGilvary, Sister - Lawanda Banks, Brother - Tom Knox, Bonus mother - Annie Mae Mcmeans Manning all preceded him in death. On June 5th, 2024, the Lord called for his angel. He leaves to cherish his two children, Jamesha Knox and James Knox IV two grandchildren, Zaiden Knox and Na,Zyrah Barnes, three brothers Robert Green, Ralph Watts, and Herman Knox, one sister Jimmie Knox Walton, sister in law Dorisila Green, brother in law Dominique Walton, three nieces Breontanay Watts, Shawanda Banks, Kera Green Two Nephews Robert Green Jr, Jamari Walton and five bonus sisters and brothers Mack, Sheila, Robert, Joseph and Rosie Manning and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
