Clinton Jerrell Hines IV was born on November 4, 1990, in La Palma, California to Susan Kearney and Clinton Hines III. From the very beginning, he showed a deep passion for life and a heart full of love for is family and friends. CJ’s early years were spent in Carson, where he attended Leapwood Elementary School and Curtis Middle School. As he moved on to high school, he first went to Locke High before transferring to University High. CJ developed a love for football at a young age, playing for the Mona Park Chiefs and later representing Locke High. Throughout his life, CJ was known for his incredible work ethic and determination. Once he set his sights on something, he would stop at nothing to achieve it. One of the greatest joys of CJ’s life came in 2010 when he became a father to his son, Clinton J. Hines V. The day his son was born was one of the happiest moments of his life. Over the years, CJ cherished spending quality time with his family, whether it was a family gathering, a party, trips to the park, or just simple outings. As a dedicated provider, CJ worked hard throughout his life. He held positions at companies like: Republic Trash Company, Amazon, and FedEx, all while dreaming of new business adventures. His ambition and “never give up” attitude fueled his pursuit of success for the future he wanted to create for his loved ones.

CJ is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gertrude and Otis Gardner; his paternal grandfather, Chares Featherson; his beloved auntie, Felicia Hines; his great-grandmother Millie Brown; and his great-grandmothers Doll Baby Brow-Holyfield and Bernice Hines.

CJ leaves behind a loving family who will forever old him close in their hearts. He is survived by his four children: Clinton V, Camryn, Cassidy and Caylee; his devoted mother, Susan Kearney, and step-father, Joseph Kearney; his loving father, Clinton Hines III, and his step-mother, Lianne Broks-Hines; as well as his bonus mom, Antwaynette Johnson; is Godmother, Joann Hines; his siblings: Christina, Kylee, Da’Johnia, Jogina, Christopher, Tyshon, Jonathan, Joseph III, Teyrin, Terrauncen and Terrion; his paternal grandmother, Freddie Featherson; his paternal aunts Millie Williams and Darlene Russell; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

CJ’s legacy will live on in the love he shared with his family, the lessons he imparted, and the unwavering determination he showed in everything he did.
