Anthony Tyrome Jackson was born, July 20th, 1957, in Oxnard, California on the Naval Base Port Hueneme. He was the first-born child of the union between Tonsillitis and Lula Jackson. However, Anthony was also the fifth of nine children born to his mother, Lula Jackson.
In the 1960’s Tonsillitis & Lula relocated to the Los Angeles/Compton area with their large family. Anthony accepted Christ into his life at an early age and had his own personal relationship with the Lord. He became affectionately known as Tony in his youth and during his childhood he attended Bunch Junior High School and Locke High School.
Following high school Tony went into the military, serving in the Cost Guard. In 1978, after his military service, Tony married his first love Debra Allen. From that union three children were born: Daniel Jackson, Marquetta Jackson, and Marcus Jackson.
Later in life, Tony started his career driving trucks, his union with Debra has ended but a fresh start was on the horizon. He met and fell in love with Theola “Madesta” Rodgers. Tony and Madesta were in a long-term relationship that produced three children. Anthony Jackson Jr, Antoinette Jackson, and Isaiah Jackson.
In his more recent years, Tony lived alone in Long Beach and focused on managing his health issues with the help of his siblings. Tony was a strong willed, stern but gentle man that was loved and respected by many.
On September 30, 2022, Tony was called home to be with the Lord.
Tony is predeceased by his parents, Tonsillitis and Lula Jackson, his children Marcus and Antoinette Jackson, his brothers Leroy Mays and Kenneth Jackson and his sister Jannette Leloya Mays.
Tony is survived by his children, Daniel, Marquetta, Anthony, and Isaiah Jackson. His siblings Myra Corbin, Sue Jenkins, Jeffrey Jackson, Terri Jackson & Nathan Jackson and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
